Textiles/Fiber Arts

I am a queer creative and clinical social worker. I utilizes the disciplines of fibers, photography, paint, and sculptural form to create metaphorical, narrative-based pieces. I find art making to have an innate healing quality and love to blend my therapeutic practice with the creative whenever possible. Color has always played a major role in my life and although my wardrobe is typically black, colors draw me in. They are how I like to express my truest self. I received my Bachelor's of Art in Fine Arts from Creighton University, and my Master's of Fine Arts from Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). I have exhibited multiple times on both campuses. I received multiple grants through Graduate Studies and The Office of Community Engagement at MICA to further pursue skills and techniques in fiber arts.]...at the root of it, I love stories. I love hearing them and I love telling them. I have always been an artist; I've always loved color and my brain has always worked differently. I utilizes the disciplines of fibers, photography, paint, and sculptural form to create metaphorical, narrative-based pieces. I find art making to have an innate healing quality and use it alongside my therapy practice for my own self-care but also for those I work with.
