The first female Omaha city slam champion.
Zedeka Poindexter is an Omaha born and raised artist.
She is the first and only female Omaha city slam champion. As a member of Omaha’s poetry slam team, she qualified for semi-finals at the National Poetry Slam. Only one other team achieved this honor in its 13-year history.
Her work has been published by the online literary magazine The New and Alight: Best Loved Poems from the 2013 Women of the World Poetry Slam.
In 2005 and 2013, she was nominated for an Omaha Entertainment and Arts award in the category of slam poetry.
