Open Studios connects visitors to artists in the Inside/Outside Fellowship program and creates space for casual conversations about creative processes and projects.
In addition to visiting the Fellows’ studios, participate in the following activities:
12–4 pm | Zine Making
Stop by the studio of Omaha Zine Fest founders Daphne Calhoun + Andrea Kszystyniak, who are known together as Rowdy Boys Collective, to make a take-home zine.
12–4 pm | Movement Class
Looking for an excuse to let out your inner child? Join dancer/choreographer Mariah Person in her studio for a drop-in movement activity. This is a come as you are space where participants will learn six fundamental movement concepts and explore them to the sounds of group-curated playlist.
1–2:30 pm | Open Rehearsal
Join vocalist, composer, performance artist, and current Union Fellow Liz Gre for an open rehearsal with cellist Maurisa Mansaray. The duo will perform new compositions and invite the audience to give feedback and dialogue about the work in its current state. This performance will take place in the first-floor community bay.
