Participants will learn how to bind a book using the piano hinge bookbinding structure which is designed after door hinges. This structure can accommodate an infinite number of pages and does not require glue. The ‘pins’ that support this structure can be anything from popsicle sticks to plant stems. We’ll look at examples of how this book structure has been used by artists to explore their creative ideas. Participants will keep the blank book they make to use as a prototype for future projects or for adding content after the workshop.
